Animal Kingdom weanling sells for $200,000

Animal Kingdom posted the equal highest price for a filly at the Inglis Australian Weanling Sale when the daughter of dual stakeswinner Johan’s Toy was sold for $200,000.

The buyers were experienced pinhookers Mark & Shelley Treweek of New Zealand’s Lyndhurst Farm and their final bid was only $30,000 short of the Weanling Sale’s top price.

Offered by Goodwood Farm, the filly is a half-sister to multiple Group winner Toydini, from a stakes-winning half-sister to Extra Zero & Operetta Lass, both also Group winners.

Goodwood Farm also sold Johan’s Toy, in foal to Dundeel. She was purchased for $280,000 by Alan Bell.

Animal Kingdom, winner of the Dubai World Cup and Kentucky Derby, will serve his third Australian book of mares at Arrowfield this Spring.
