Overview
SIRE OF 35 STAKESWINNERS INCLUDING 7 G1 WINNERS
$16,500
DANZERO is the perfect option, at a realistic fee, for young mares who deserve maximum opportunity to leave successful, early-maturing horses with market appeal, that train on.
Already, in the first 14 days of the 2010/11 season, he has left seven winners around Australia, including the super-consistent mare Hidden Wonder, now the winner of eight races and $435,272.
9 STAKES PERFORMERS in 2009/10
• Hong Kong G1 winner HAPPY ZERO, G2 winner (and G1 performer) EXTRA ZERO, stakeswinner DANZYLUM, G3 placegetters Bombay Sling and Zero Rock plus Listed Stakes-placed Masked Assassin, Startsmeup, Stoneblack and Tricky Tricky.
• With total season earnings of $3.5 million, Danzero made the top 25 sires in Australia - the only stallion from the "Class of 1995" in that leading group.
• He had a particularly good season with his 3YOs: 33 winners of 46 races, and more than $1.5 million - headed by EXTRA ZERO ($516,500).
• The 2009/10 season of Hong Kong-based 5YO gelding HAPPY ZERO illustrates the class and consistency Danzero imparts. He had eight starts last season, in Hong Kong, Singapore and England, winning the HKJC Queen's Silver Jubilee Cup HK-1 and two other Hong Kong Group races. His four placings included 2nd, HKJC Hong Kong Mile G1 (beaten only a half-length by Good Ba Ba) and 3rd, Singapore TC International Sprint G1, when he ran home very strongly from a poor draw. A $425,000 Easter Sale yearling (conceived on a $26,400 fee), HAPPY ZERO has now won $HK13.4 million (=$A1.9 million).
THE LEGEND BEGINS
For internatonal champion sire DANEHILL (USA) the beginning was DANZERO – his sire’s first Group 1 winner, and the first of Danehill's sons to sire a Group 1 winner.
A brilliant juvenile and Golden Slipper G1 winner, Danzero graduated quickly to a proven success at stud – Champion 2YO Sire of Australia in 2004 (with record earnings) and the first stallion in history to sire Champion 2YOs in both hemispheres in the same season: DANCE HERO in Australia and SOAR in England.
Danzero continues the legacy of his sire Danehill’s remarkable influence. Indeed, of Danehill’s sons only Redoute’s Choice and Flying Spur have sired more southern hemisphere G1 winners. In all, he is the sire of 4 champions (DANCE HERO, SOAR (GB), FAIRWAY, and DANGLISSA), 7 Group 1 winners and a total of 59 stakes performers.
