Overview
SIRE OF G3 SQUAMOSA & SW DOUBTFUL JACK
$13,750
Brilliant sprinting 3YO SQUAMOSA gave Not a Single Doubt the best possible start to the 2010/11 season with an all-the-way win in the STC Run to the Rose H. 1300m G3 on 14 August. The Gai Waterhouse-trained colt very nearly repeated that performance two weeks later in the $1 million STC Golden Rose 1400m G1, where he finished second, beaten a half-neck in class record time of 1:21.90.
With three wins, a second and $370,800 from four starts in his first campaign Squamosa now spells, with the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap and Lightning Stakes likely targets in the autumn.
He's just one of ten individual winners for Not a Single Doubt in the first 4 weeks of the new Australian season. They include another very promising 3YO ROADTRAIN, unbeaten in three starts from the Tony Vasil stable.
Meanwhile, in Singapore smart 4YO ALWAYS CERTAIN notched up his fourth win on 27 August, and took his prizemoney beyond $S320,000.
A LEADING 2ND SEASON SIRE IN 2009/10
Stakeswinner DOUBTFUL JACK, and progressive 2YOs NO HESITATION, SPIRITED EAGLE and SQUAMOSA were among the 43 winners that powered Not A Single Doubt's steady rise up the 2009/10 Australian 2nd Season Sires' list, where he finished 3rd by winners and wins, and 5th by earnings.
DOUBTFUL JACK's outstanding 6.5 length victory in the $200,000 VRC Winter Championship Final 1600m LR on 10 July encouraged trainer Peter Moody to target major spring Group races with the now 4YO gelding, winner of six of his 12 starts and almost $375,000.
Not a Single Doubt was represented by five other stakes performers in 2009/10: multiple Group placegetter ABSOLUTE FAITH, G2-laced SWEEPSTAKING, G3-placed ALWAYS CERTAIN and MY GIRL HELEN and stakesplaced STARS ALIGNED.
His success extends beyond Australia into the key markets of Asia. From a handful of runners, Not A Single Doubt was represented in 2009/10 by Hong Kong winners TAI SING YEH (five wins) and ENHANCED (formerly Absolute Soda), and in Singapore by ALWAYS CERTAIN, the winner of three races and S$342,045, and placed in the Singapore Guineas Sing-1, Stewards Cup Sing-3 and Singapore Sprint Sing-3.
Not A Single Doubt gave early signs of his ability to leave horses trainers love to train, and owners love to race. REGAL FLAME won the 2008/09 season’s first 2YO race (at Wanganui in NZ) by 7 lengths, and fittingly, went on to become his sire’s first stakes performer. Not A Single Doubt went on to earn the title of Australia's Champion First Season Sire (by winners) in 2008/09 with a season tally of 13 individual winners.
A BRILLIANT SPRINTING SON OF REDOUTE'S CHOICE
Not A Single Doubt was the first stakeswinning son of REDOUTE’S CHOICE to stand at stud. The high class record breaking 2YO and stakeswinning 3YO blends the blood of Australia’s most prolific source of speed and precocity of the last half century: DANEHILL, STAR KINGDOM, and RORY’S JESTER.
Not A Single Doubt hails from a stallion-making family with his dam a half sister to the outstanding sire in SNIPPETS. He is also closely related to the FORENSICS and ZIZOU who ran the quinella in the 2007 STc Golden Slipper S. G1.

His first yearlings were offered in 2008 and sold to $160,000, averaging $77,890 (40 sold). His second crop sold to $140,000 and with the stallion’s continuing solid results on the track it was of little surprise to see buyers keen to snare his stock in the sales rings of 2010.
At this year’s Karaka Premier Kieran Moore paid NZ$170,000 for the filly out of Bahira; the colt from Parisnia brought a final bid of $90,000 at the Inglis Classic, and yearlings selling to $105,000 at the Melbourne Premier and $80,000 at the Magic Millions Premier (median $65,000).
