The HUSSONET/NORTHERN DANCER cross has proven to be extraordinarily successful with 15 of Hussonet’s 26 G1 winners to date bred on this cross. This makes Hussonet an ideal cross for the plethora of Northern Dancer blood in the Australian broodmare population.

The Mr Prospector/NIJINSKY II cross has produced the likes of 8 times Group 1 winner Heavenly Prize and English 1000 Guineas winner Russian Rhythm. In Australia, the cross has produced Group1 winners Mr Innocent (KINSKI), Apache Cat (WHISKEY ROAD) and Shot of Thunder (COPPER KINGDOM) while the outstanding filly Shamekha has Nijinsky II as the sire of her second dam.  Other sons of Nijinsky II with daughters at stud include YEATS, CAERLEON, ROYAL ACADEMY, WESTERN SYMPHONY, SEA ROAD and SERHEED.

Hussonet over mares by Nijinsky II stallion Worldwatch has produced over 90% winners to runners and no less than 25 individual stakes winners.

Worldwatch is bred on similar lines to DANEHILL being by a Northern Dancer line stallion, carrying Ribot close up in his pedigree and hailing from the family of Northern Dancer.

The Mr Prospector/DANZIG cross has produced horses of the calibre of Agnes Digital, Fusaichi Pegasus, Almutawakel, Nanninia and in Australia the Group 1 AJC Sires’ Produce winner Camarilla. The reverse cross has also been very successful in Australia with the likes of Flying Spur, Miss Finland, Mentality etc.  Danzig sons in Australia include ANABAA, CHIEF’S CROWN, DESERT SUN, MISTER C., PERUGINO and SNAADEE.

Hussonet had already sired two Group 1 winners out of Danzig line mares in Chile.  In Australia, daughters of DANEHILL are already reinforcing this nick. Group 1 winner Reaan and stakes winners Brazen Hussey and Dirty are all out of Danehill mares.

The Mr Prospector / Northern Dancer cross has also produced excellent results with SADLER’S WELLS, NUREYEV and EL GRAN SENOR – the latter being a close relation of REDOUTE’S CHOICE.  Sadler’s Wells’ sons in Australia include SCENIC, CARNEGIE, BARATHEA, GALILEO and KING OF KINGS. Champion Weekend Hussler is out of a mare by HELISSIO, who is by Sadler’s Wells’ brother, FAIRY KING.  Another son of Fairy King to source is ENCOSTA DE LAGO. Nureyev’s sons include STRAVINSKY, ASHKALANI, SPINNING WORLD, PEINTRE CELEBRE and SOVIET LAD.  El Gran Senor can be sourced via AL HAREB and RODRIGO DE TRIANO.

Hussonet/Mr Prospector
Hussonet has had great success with daughters of Roy, a son of the Mr Prospector line stallion FAPPIANO, the grandsire of UNBRIDLED’S SONG. On this cross Hussonet has sired Grade 1 Shadwell Mile winner Host and triple Group 1 winning son Husson, the only horse to have defeated Asiatic Boy. In addition to Roy,

Hussonet is also working with other strains of Mr Prospector’ sire Raise A Native as evident by his 2004 Horse of the Year Trotamondo.  His dam is by a son of EXCLUSIVE NATIVE, who is also the sire of AFFIRMED, PARIS PRINCE, TWENTY FOUR KARAT and grandsire of ZOFFANY.  Other Raise a Native line sires are PRINCE ECHO and CLEAR CHOICE.

Hussonet’s first Australian-bred stakeswinner Husson Lightning is out of a mare by SNIPPETS who is a member of the Tom Fool sireline. This is an excellent cross as Snippets is out of a Northern Dancer line mare and he
brings precociousness to the mating. Hussonet had success in Chile with daughters of the Tom Fool line stallion Settlement Day and the Mr Prospector/Tom Fool cross has produced the likes of Miswaki, Seeking The Gold and Tempest Morn.

The Mr Prospector / STAR KINGDOM cross has been highly successful in Australia producing the likes of World Champion Sprinter Silent Witness as well as Group 1 winners Eremien, Haradasun, Victory Vein, Umrum, St Basil, and El Mirada.  Daughters of CANNY LAD, KAORU STAR, BLETCHINGLY, COVETOUS, KENNY’S BEST PAL, MARSCAY and STAR WATCH are very appealing.

The Mr Prospector / CENTURY cross has already produced
Group 1 winners Miss Kournikova, Dash For Cash and Tully Thunder (Thunder Gulch/Centaine) on this cross while Group 1 winners Apache Cat and Shot of Thunder are by a Mr Prospector line stallion and have Century as the sire of their second dam.  RUBITON, EUCLASE and CENTAINE are the main representatives of this line.

Hussonet has already sired numerous stakes winners on the Mr Prospector / TURN-TO cross. This cross has also had substantial success in Australasia having produced Caulfield/ Melbourne Cup heroine Ethereal (dam by SIR TRISTRAM), Champion 3YO Gold Guru (DON’T SAY HALO), AJC Derby winner Clangalang (STAFF SERGEANT) and triple Group 1 winner Shamekha (DON’T SAY HALO).  Other damsire to seek include MORE THAN READY, SUNDAY SILENCE, ZABEEL, GROSVENOR, MARAUDING, RED RANSOM and BROCCO.
